Scope of practice
Coaching disclaimer.
What The Composition Desk does, what it does not do, and when it will stop and refer you elsewhere. A working draft prepared for legal review.
Internal note — remove before publication
This document is a professional editable draft prepared for review by a qualified legal advisor. It intentionally does not state a business address, registered entity or governing jurisdiction; those must be supplied and confirmed by the owner. Do not treat this text as legal advice.
Nutrition coaching and education only
The Composition Desk provides nutrition coaching and education for generally healthy adults. Services include assessment, protocol design, execution support and data-led adjustment.
Nothing provided by The Composition Desk — on this website, in a protocol document, in the client portal or in any message — constitutes medical advice.
Not medical care
The Composition Desk does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, disorder or medical condition.
It does not provide medical nutrition therapy, does not prescribe or adjust medication, and does not order or interpret laboratory tests or imaging.
Coaching is not a substitute for care from your physician, a registered dietitian or any other qualified healthcare professional.
Consult your physician
You should consult your own physician before beginning, changing or ending any nutrition or exercise programme, particularly if you have a medical condition, are taking medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are recovering from illness or injury.
If you experience concerning symptoms at any point, stop and seek medical attention. Do not wait for a check-in.
Medical clearance
Where an intake response indicates a condition, symptom, medication or history requiring clinical oversight, The Composition Desk may request written clearance from your physician before an engagement begins, may narrow the scope of the engagement, or may decline it.
This is a scope-of-practice decision. It is not an assessment of your health and must not be interpreted as one.
Eating disorders and disordered eating
The Composition Desk does not provide services for eating disorders or disordered eating.
Where these are indicated or disclosed, the response will be a referral to appropriate specialist care rather than a coaching offer.
Supplements
The Composition Desk does not sell, dispense, source or prescribe supplements, and does not provide guidance on prohibited or performance-enhancing substances.
Any general educational discussion of commonly used products is not a recommendation and does not account for your medical circumstances.
No guaranteed outcomes
Body-composition and performance responses vary between individuals and over time. No specific outcome, rate of change or timeline is promised, implied or guaranteed.
Case studies, when published, describe individual experiences with written consent and are not predictions.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for disclosing relevant health information, and for the decisions you make in applying any guidance.
By engaging The Composition Desk you acknowledge that you have read and understood this disclaimer.
