The practice

A private desk for people who want the reasoning, not just the plan.

The Composition Desk is a nutrition coaching and body-composition consultancy. It exists because the gap between knowing what to do and running a system that survives real life is where almost everyone loses.

  • Individualised systems
  • Disciplined execution
  • Measurable feedback

Founder note

Why the desk exists

The Composition Desk began with a repeated observation: capable, disciplined people arriving with more nutrition information than they could use and no structure to apply it to. They had read enough. What they did not have was a system built around their schedule, their preferences, their training and their constraints — and a second set of eyes reading the data each week.

So the practice was designed to look like a consultancy rather than a coaching brand. An assessment that takes the whole picture seriously. A written protocol you own, with the reasoning attached. A weekly review that treats your data as evidence rather than a scoreboard. And a documented adjustment that changes one thing at a time.

We publish no credentials we have not earned, no case studies we cannot evidence, and no outcome claims at all. The founder's professional background and qualifications will be published here in full once finalised for this site — this paragraph is a deliberate placeholder rather than an invented biography.

Editorial note for the owner: replace the paragraph above with your actual background, training and qualifications before publishing.

Manifesto

What the desk believes

  1. 01

Most nutrition advice fails not because it is wrong, but because it was never built for the person receiving it.

  2. 02

A protocol is only as good as the ordinary week it survives.

  3. 03

Precision is a tool with a purpose and an expiry date, not an identity.

  4. 04

Data earns the decision. Sentiment does not.

  5. 05

The work is finished when you no longer need the desk.

Operating principles

How the work is actually run

These are not slogans. They are the rules the desk applies to every engagement, including the inconvenient ones.

Individualised, or not worth building

A protocol that could belong to anyone belongs to no one. Every target here is derived from your intake.

The plan must survive an ordinary week

Design that only works in ideal conditions is decoration. We build for the tired Tuesday, not the perfect Monday.

One variable at a time

Change three things and you learn nothing. Change one and the data tells you something you can use again.

Data over sentiment

Trends, not single readings. Feelings are recorded as data too — hunger, energy and performance all count.

Scope is a discipline

Nutrition coaching and education, clearly bounded. Anything clinical is referred to a qualified medical professional.

You should end up needing us less

The engagement succeeds when you understand your own system well enough to run it without supervision.

Scope of practice

The boundaries we hold

Stated plainly, because a coach who will not name their limits is a risk to you.

  • TCD does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, disorder or medical condition.

  • TCD does not provide medical nutrition therapy, prescribe medication, or interpret laboratory results.

  • Where an intake response indicates a condition, symptom or medication requiring clinical oversight, TCD requests medical clearance from your physician before proceeding, or declines the engagement.

  • Clients are responsible for consulting their own physician before changing their nutrition, and for disclosing relevant health information accurately.
